Founding Partner, Robert J. Beles is renowned for being one of the few criminal defense attorneys to have won a triple-murder case. Bob and the firm's attorneys have been successfully and aggressively defending clients throughout the Oakland-San Francisco Bay Area for over 50 years and are considered to be the Bay Area's sex crimes defense specialists.

Robert has tried over one hundred jury trials (both state and federal), with over twenty acquittals on murder cases alone, including death penalty cases. He has also had extraordinary success at winning sexual assault cases as well as all kinds of serious sex crime cases, including molestation, sexual battery, improper touching, sexual harassment, “date rape,” prostitution, pornography, internet child porn, rape, indecent exposure, and sexual addiction. He has also been successful in the termination of sex registration. He has seen firsthand that false allegations are common and that accusations of sexual misconduct can be devastating.

Robert's first goal in sex crime cases is to negotiate dropped charges - so that clients can avoid damage to their reputations. When that's not possible, he has extensive experience as a skilled trial lawyer and will work towards dismissals and not-guilty verdicts at trial.

Partner and daughter, Anne C. Beles, has been practicing law for 24 years and is similarly well regarded in the legal community for her tenacious defense at trial in complex felony cases including the defense of sex crime allegations. Over the course of her legal career, her advocacy has resulted in the dismissal of murder cases, wins at jury trial and dismissals in sexual crime cases.

Both father and daughter are State Bar Certified Criminal Law Specialists and are passionate about defending their client's rights. They believe deeply in handling cases in a discreet, sensitive and professional manner.
