Demetrius Costy
Demetrius Costy was born in the East Bay in 1972. He was raised in Oakland and graduated from Bishop O’Dowd High School. Four years later, he graduated from Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles.
Recent Successful Case Result
In 1999, Demetrius graduated form the University of San Francisco School of Law. He went to law school with the express intent of being a criminal defense attorney. Within months of passing the California Bar Exam, Demetrius flew to Arizona and tried his first case.
Demetrius has handled cases in State and Federal court in 15 different counties as well as Hopi Tribal Court in Arizona. He has tried cases in Alameda, Contra Costa, and San Mateo. He has also argued numerous cases in front of the District Court of Appeal in San Francisco.
Demetrius has represented clients on some of the biggest drug cases in the Bay Area; including a 19 kilo cocaine case, that was dismissed, and many large scale marijuana possession and cultivation cases which have been dismissed or resolved for misdemeanors.
In January of this year, Demetrius won a manslaughter verdict at trial on a first degree murder case in Oakland. He has also handled numerous “high profile” cases which are easily researched online by doing a Google search on,“Demetrius Costy”.
